History

1920
Mr. Julio N Galvan began in the customs area at the Rivas and Belfort Customs Brokers Agency in Tampico, Tamaulipas.

1969
Mr. Julio N Galvan incorporates Flogalva SC, Customs Brokers Agency in Mexico City with Customs Brokers Mr. Antonio Ferrer and Mr. Juan B Loria and his son Rodolfo L Galvan who is the current General Director of Grupo Galvan

1979
Rodolfo L Galvan incorporates Flogalva of Nuevo Laredo, SC., in the city of Nuevo Laredo, Tamps.

1980
Rodolfo L Galvan establishes Commercial Forwarders of Laredo, Inc. in Laredo, Texas.

1984
On March 19, our General Director Mr. Rodolfo L Galvan, once having passed the examinations and other requirements, is granted the Customs Broker License 697 by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit to exercise in the Customshouse of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.

1986
Our founder Mr. Julio N Galvan dies at the age of 85. The two companies, Flogalva SC and Flogalva de Nuevo Laredo, SC., merged into Rodolfo L Galvan, SC., Customs Agency

1992
The Secretary of the Treasury (Ministry of Finance and Public Credit) grants Rodolfo L Galvan national license 3055, to exercise, in addition to the appointed office, in other customs different from that of first appointment.

1999
In this year Rodolfo L Galvan established Galvan Group, Inc., our distribution center in Laredo Texas, under the laws of the State of Texas; from here, we provide the cross border operation services between Mexico and the United States and other services such as freight forwarding.

In that same year, Grupo Aduanal Galvan, SC is established in Nuevo Laredo, Tamps. with branch offices in Mexico City, Guadalajara, San Luis Potosi, Manzanillo and Veracruz.

2000
In February of this year, the global certification company, SGS European Quality Certification Institute E.E.S.V. based in Switzerland, once having fulfilled the requirements of ISO 9002:1994, certified the clearance process of imported goods in our Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, Guadalajara and Manzanillo branches.

2003
In April of this year, once having fulfilled the requirements of the company SGS International Certification Services E.E.S.V. we were awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certification for the import - export clearance processes of goods in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Manzanillo and Veracruz branches.

2006
In June of this year, the company SGS United Kingdom Ltd. Systems and Services Certification, based in the UK, awarded the ISO 9001:2000 recertification in the Import - Export Clearance processes of goods to our Nuevo Laredo, Ciudad Mexico, Guadalajara, Manzanillo and Veracruz branches.

2008

Systems and Services Certification, based in the UK, awarded the Standard ISO 9001:2000 certification in the Import - Export Clearance processes of goods to Galvan Group, Inc. in Laredo, Texas, and to our branches in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, Guadalajara, Manzanillo, Veracruz and Lázaro Cárdenas.

Infrastructure

In Mexico 
Grupo Aduanal Galvan, SC, acknowledging the need of our clients to use various ports of entry and departure from the country, decided to operate in the Customshouse of:

  • Nuevo Laredo and Colombia NL
  • México City International Airport
  • Guadalajara's Airport and Railport
  • San Luis Potosí
  • Manzanillo
  • Veracruz
  • Lázaro Cárdenas
  • Altamira and Tampico

In addition to our operating offices mentioned above, we have 3 public relations offices in the cities of:

  • Downtown Guadalajara

as well as a corporate office in Nuevo Laredo from where the Group's administration is controlled.

 

In the USA  
In March 2007, we opened our new and modern Galvan Distribution Center in Laredo, Texas on 10.5 acres of land located at El Portal Industrial Park, one of the best in Laredo, two miles from the World Trade Bridge, with a roofed storage area of 180,000 square feet, 46 loading and unloading doors, 2 access ramps, and a yard with capacity for 180 trailers.

Each branch is led by a manager and a chief of Customs Operations, who can replace each other, the managers will report to the chief operating officer of the zone to which they belong. The Traffic Supervisor or Coordinator, whichever applies, is the owner of the account and is our face with the customer; he is responsible for the shipment from the moment he receives notice, until clearance of goods and their delivery to final destination.
